Badges & patches

Embroidered badges,
patches & woven labels.

A badge is the right answer when the design is too detailed to stitch directly, when the garment can’t be hooped, or when you want the same emblem across kit you haven’t bought yet. We produce them to order — embroidered or woven, iron-on or sew-on, with a proper merrow border or a clean laser-cut edge.

What we make

Four kinds of badge,
and when to use each.

Embroidered patches

Thread stitched onto a twill backing. The classic club, military and biker badge: raised, textured and hard-wearing. Coverage can be partial, letting the backing colour show through, or 100% so no twill is visible at all. Best for bold shapes and lettering down to about 5mm.

Woven labels

Made on a loom from fine threads rather than embroidered, so they sit flat and hold far more detail than stitching can. Use these for small clothing labels, neck tags, care labels and any logo with fine type or intricate line work that would fill in as embroidery.

Iron-on patches

A heat-activated adhesive backing so the badge can be pressed on in seconds without sewing. Ideal for supplying to members or customers to apply themselves. On garments that get very hard wear or hot industrial washing we’d still recommend a few stitches around the edge as well.

Merrow border patches

The thick, slightly raised overlocked edge you see on traditional badges. It seals the border, stops any fraying and gives that substantial, finished feel. Merrow suits simple outlines — circles, shields, rectangles. For complex or irregular shapes we use a laser-cut edge instead.

Ordering badges

How a badge
order runs.

Badges are manufactured to order rather than stitched here in the workshop, which is why the minimum and the lead time are different from our garment embroidery.

  • Minimum order is 100 units. Below that the setup cost outweighs the badges. If you need fewer, embroidering directly onto the garment is usually the cheaper route — ask and we’ll price both.
  • From £3 each. The exact price depends on size, stitch coverage, backing and border type. Larger quantities bring the unit price down considerably.
  • Around four weeks. That covers artwork, a digital proof for your approval, manufacture and delivery. Tell us if you have a fixed date and we’ll confirm before you commit.
  • You approve a proof first. Nothing is manufactured until you have seen and signed off the artwork — with a 100-unit minimum, that step matters.
  • Delivered anywhere in the UK. Straight to you, or split across multiple addresses if you’re supplying several sites or clubs.
  • We can apply them too. If you’re also buying the garments, we’ll sew or press the badges on before they ship.
