Logo digitising.
The part that matters.

Digitising is converting your logo into a stitch file: the exact path the needle takes, the order it happens in, the direction of every fill. It is the single biggest factor in how the finished embroidery looks — and the step most suppliers automate.

Worth knowing

A few things
we’ve learned.

Auto-conversion is the problem

Software can turn a picture into stitches in seconds. It has no idea that this shape is lettering and that one is a background, so it fills everything at the same density in whatever order suits it. Puckered fabric, filled-in letter counters and fuzzy edges nearly always trace back to this.

Hand-plotted, per fabric

Our digitiser sets stitch type, density, underlay and pull compensation by hand, for the fabric it is going on. The same logo gets a different file for a waffle-knit polo and a fleece.

You see it stitched first

We run a physical sew-out on every new logo and photograph it. Nothing goes into production until you have looked at it and said yes.

The file is yours

Digitising is a one-off charge from £10 per logo, quoted before we start. Once it is done there is no further digitising cost on any future order using that artwork. The stitch file belongs to you — if you ever move supplier, ask and we'll send it over.
